When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

We keep a record of each consent action on our server so we can demonstrate that consent was given. Each record includes a hashed version of your IP address (never stored in plain text), the categories you chose, the policy version, your region, and a timestamp. These records are automatically deleted after 12 months.
Our default approach is opt-in (GDPR-style): non-essential cookies do not run until you actively agree to them. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we honor it automatically and opt you out of all non-essential cookies without any action needed on your part. This also satisfies opt-out rights under laws such as the CCPA.
